Here are pics of the construction of my new custom heavy joust armor.
It is modeled loosely on the Greenwich (UK) style of the mid-16thC.
It is made by Roy Cox, owner of the Free Lancers joust troupe.
It meets the 'classic' WCJA specs, in stainless. The breast is 14ga. Here it is cut & shaped and with rudimentary center seam.
More shaping and waist fauld added.
Neck shaped to fit gorget, edges rolled and roped.
Fitting to gorget
Fauld and armpit gussets added.
The gussets are rolled and roped.
Buffed out with gorget.
Gorget
Backplate and rear fauld.
This will be worn with a chainmail over leather brayette, also under construction.
